I will dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
